The State Government of Tamil Nadu has recently launched an affordable housing initiative called Kalaignar Kanavu illam under which the Government aims to provide cheap and permanent houses to all the shelter less residents of Tamil Nadu State. Under this scheme, the Government plans to provide at least 3 Lakh housing facilities to all the eligible homeless residents of Tamil Nadu State. This initiative will somehow help in the reduction of homeless citizens across the state by providing them a shelter on their heads so that they have a quality life.

About Kalaignar Kanavu illam
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu State has introduced this housing initiative named Kalaignar Kanavu illam in which the Authorities aim to provide housing opportunities for all the homeless residents of Tamil Nadu State. According to this initiative the government seeks to construct at least 8 Lakh Housing flats for all the shelter-less citizens of the state. With the help of this scheme, the percentage of homeless citizens will somehow reduce and all the homeless residents will get a chance to get their dream homes and shelters on their heads. As per the reports, The government has allocated a total budget of INR 3500 Crore for the implementation of this scheme.
